Thrift Shop What is the Thrift
Shop? The St. Thomas Community Thrift
Shop was established in 1999 and is open to
everyone regardless of income, need or home
address.When we are approached by persons with a
referral for clothing and/or household goods we
let them take whatever they can use, one time, gratis.
Where is the Thrift
Shop located? The Thrift
Shop is located in the basement of St.
Thomas Episcopal Church, 2441 Nichols Drive
in Trenton. The Thrift Shop is open on Saturdays
from 9:00 a.m. to noon.We are closed during the
month of July. Where do our proceeds go? In the year 2006 we gave almost $3,000 in monetary donations to: St. Thomas church, Crossroads Soup Kitchen in Detroit, ChristNet Warming Center, Trenton Food Pantry, Trenton Goodfellows, Episcopal Relief and Development, and Wycliffe Bible Translators in support of missionaries Mark & Lynn Onken.We also gave a $300.00 scholarship to a Trenton High School student. In addition,
the Thrift Shop donated: outfits for job
interviews to the Chrysalis Boutique; Southgate;
clothing, shoes and household goods to the
Salvation Army; flower vases to Arbor Hospice,
Trenton; clothing to an O.B. Clinic in Mud Creek,
Kentucky; school supplies and childrens
clothing to a class in Onaway, Michigan; clothing
to the Thrift Shop at the Church of the
Resurrection, Ecorse; and clothing and books to
our missionaries in Papua New Guinea. How can I get
involved? We welcome
donations of gently used, clean clothing,
household goods and books.We do not have the
space to handle furniture.If possible, please
bring your donations to the Thrift Shop on
Saturday mornings between 9:00 a.m. and
noon. We also welcome anyone who would like
to donate time sorting the donated items and
